Race-y Momma

Natalie and I have made every effort to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather we've been having.  To take full advantage of the beautiful day yesterday, we called Aunt Beth, and the three of us headed to the park for a walk.  We made use of the new jogging stroller and walked the 8 mile paved trail....in 2 hours!

Natalie enjoyed the fresh air

With aspirations of returning to pre-pregnancy running shape, I have decided to start training for the Flying Pig.  Ok...the Flying Pig Half Marathon.  As much as I would like to avenge my performance at last year's marathon, I have not run a single step in 10 months, so the half seems to be a much more manageable goal.  Today was day one of training.  4 miles accomplished in 42 minutes.  Not bad at all, considering (see above re: not running in 10 months).

Hopefully the weather will hold out and Nat and I can do most of the runs together, her enjoying the ride and me doing all the work, of course.  We are entering a 10K walk in March, too.  Maybe she'll end up with the running bug like her mama.  Ultimately, I hope to find the time to train for a fall marathon.  One day at a time though.

And, finally, as promised...adorable video of Natalie trying to figure out how to suck her thumb (or any of her other fingers!):

  1. Those fingers must be finger-lickin' good! It is an adorable video of your little one! Glad you are having nice weather to be able to run again.

  2. I love that Natalie is trying so hard to get that thumb in her mouth and she got so confused with all the other fingers!

Her walking gear is so cute, I wish she would have been awake to enjoy the day!! She'll learn...

    Kiss the girl for me,

    Love, Aunt B.
