Woods Hike

Thursday we put on rain boots, found some bags for "treasures," and headed into the woods, destination unknown.  We hiked for almost 2 hours.  Which is sort of misleading because we really didn't go that far.  Little legs over logs and sticks and creeks, makes for slow going.

We were muddy and dirty, and had pretty much the best time.

I suggested hats since we were going into the woods.  They lasted about 5 minutes.

we found all kinds of cool things, including a tree with a tire around it

and a tree with a tunnel

climbing uncle Ronnie's tree stand

Girls' Day

We've been having some bedtime troubles around here lately.  It sort of came out of the blue, and I hope it goes away just as quickly.  It was bad, then it got ugly, and then I racked my brain to come up with a solution that would keep all tempers at bay.  It's been going better.  Natalie had to earn 10 stickers over the past 2 weeks.  As a reward, she and I went out for a girls only day.

It started out with glittery pink manicures at home (she's showing off her polish below).  I was a little more casually dressed than the queen of pink for our outing.  Girl knows how to get dolled up, that's for sure...

girls day out!

Stop one was at the outlet malls where the rumor was princess dresses were on sale.  Nat picked one out, and was happy to contribute some of her own money towards the purchase  Then we went shoe shopping, obviously.  And, lastly, a stop for an ice cream cone.

In case you are wondering, yes, Natalie can eat that entire cone.  She LOVES ice cream.  And I have no problem with that!

things got a little crazy after the sugar overload

She was actually wearing her dress for awhile, but we made a pit stop at the outlet mall playground, so she changed back out of her dress, then didn't want to get ice cream on it, so waited until we got home to change again.

Easter

A few pictures from Easter...

We colored eggs on Saturday.  Those pictures are on my camera.  If they're any good, when I finally look at them, I might come back and add them in.

Saturday night, we put out some snacks for the Easter Bunny.  The kids decided on a bowl of water, carrots and some lettuce.  And Sunday when we woke up, we found that he had come!

Ben wasn't too into the hunt for his basket.  He got some help from big sister.

Candy for breakfast?  Yes, please.

Ben is not quite as much of a sweet tooth as Natalie.  I think the basket of
goodies was a little underwhelming.

After we spent some time with the baskets, we rushed through a pancake breakfast,
then got cleaned up to make it to church.  And you know what happens when you get there right as the service is starting?  You have to sit on a folding chair in the vestibule.  Which is actually pretty much the perfect place for two kids.

We finished off our day with an egg hunt and dinner at Mimi and Pa's house and
a rousing game of t-ball with all the cousins.

Hey, sunshine!

Thank you, mother nature, for a perfectly beautiful day! We have been hard at work on our spring cleaning list, so a couple of hours in the warm sun was a welcome break.

Ben's newest favorite thing to do is "leap." Off everything.

Girl can go all the way across the monkey bars!

Love.
