Today was Natalie's 15-month well-check. She got another clean bill of health. As the doctor was asking about milestones, climbing in particular, Nat felt obliged to show off her skills by going over the side of a chair in the office. I guess that was just in case the doc didn't buy my story.
At 15 months, Nat weighs in at 22 lbs 11.3 ounces (50th percentile) and is 31 inches tall (75th percentile). No shots today, so we left the office smiling!
For being such a good sport, Nat got a mac n cheese treat for lunch:
Notice how handy she's getting with a fork? And, I think she's officially a righty.
If you'll notice, in video #2 below, Nat demonstrates that a fork is not always the fastest or easiest way to eat mac n cheese.

Name that Body Part
I guess, technically, I'm the one doing the naming, but check out Nat correctly pointing out all her parts. Not sure what her deal was with not pointing out her eye, since that was one of the first ones she got down. Clearly, we do our best learning at the top of the steps. This is completely and totally safe...
Saturdays
Natalie is a total outside kid. I cannot begin to tell you how much this thrills me. As soon as we get to the kitchen in the morning, she goes to the patio door and begs to go outside. We have been spending quite a bit of time outside lately, since the weather has been so nice.
Saturday we had some yard work to do. Nat was perfectly content wandering around the yard, splashing in puddles, and pointing out Eric on the lawn mower!

We Love Sunshine
No, she's not pretending to be an airplane, just running. I figured we could work on proper form later! In the meantime, enjoy the pretty weather, everyone!

Spring has Sprung
Or, so it seems. I think it is fair to say that we have had unseasonably warm weather all winter, and so it feels like spring has arrived a little early. Nat and I have been busy every afternoon field tripping around the yard, inspecting new buds on trees and bushes, and watching the progress of our tulips.
Chalk and a water, perfect accessories for a beautiful spring day
nice enough for snacks outside
tulips that we planted last fall
Nat pointing out leaf buds on the rose bushes
Maybe it's her newly light blonde hair, but Nat looks an awful lot
like her Aunt Beth in these 2 pictures
one of my favorite spring smells is onion grass,
Nat seems more inclined to eat it than smell it...

Spring Training
Last week, we took a little trip to Phoenix to catch the Brewers at Spring Training. If you'll recall, it was less than a month ago that I vowed never to fly with Natalie until age 8. While she didn't do significantly better this go-round, she did have her own seat, and so was at least a little confined. Also, we planned flight times a little better, so both on the way out and back, she slept a pretty significant portion of the flight.
It was an all sports kind of weekend, as we saw 4 baseball games, 1 hockey game, and even made a trip to the Phoenix Zoo, plus squeezed in some time with family living in the Phoenix area. Pretty splendid little trip, all in all. Sorry for the lack of stellar pictures to prove our good time...
Lawn seats were a brilliant idea for Natalie
She spent way more time running around than spectating
entertained with Grandma's glasses cases!

love this one
Bighorn Sheep in AZ are Brewer fans, too
